Brunel University chooses Keystone Talent Bank

Brunel University London is the latest higher education institute to select Keystone Talent Bank to help improve and modernise their systems for managing temporary workers.

Following a competitive tender process Keystone Talent Bank was selected to provide an electronic timesheet solution to Brunel University London, which adds greater control, accountability and efficiency to the payment of temporary and contingent workers.

The solution from Keystone provides a fully branded web portal, Brunel Talent Bank, which can be accessed by workers and managers at the university. Keystone’s cloud based Talent Bank is being deployed across the UK in a number of organisations and an ever rising number of colleges and universities.

The system is popular in the education sector as it reduces the reliance on costly external agencies and also enables a university to create a bespoke talent pool that includes its own students.

Julie Rees, Director, Professional Development Centre at Brunel University London commented: “We wanted to have an electronic timesheet solution that saves on time and paper processes. Keystone’s Talent Bank provides that, with a wealth of other benefits that should, over time, give us a modern and efficient way of engaging workers at the University. There are also some clear benefits to our innovative approach towards improving student employability.”

Moving university recruitment services online yields major benefits

More universities than ever are looking to move away from legacy ‘franchise’ approaches to student career services and yielding the benefits of moving student employability and recruitment online.

The cost savings are of course a major factor, but increasingly having student employability services confined to being ‘on campus’ and in term time is simply not delivering the results students demand.

With students engaging with most services online, it is vital that they can continue to be offered opportunities on and off campus, 24/7 x 365.

Keystone Talent Bank allows students to get immediate access to job offers, complete time-sheets and remain engaged wherever they are and on any device.

Keystone enjoys success at NWUPC Conference in Liverpool

Keystone Employment Group was present at the North West University Purchasing Consortium Conference at University of Liverpool in March.

Keystone enjoyed one of its most successful procurement events as a long line of universities were keen to update their recruitment services and finally dispense with costly legacy arrangements with recruitment agencies.

Malcolm Paice, COO of Keystone commented: “It is very clear that a rising number of universities have realised that traditional recruitment agencies, or costly in-house franchises are simply not dynamic enough for the modern university. All too often we hear about job adverts being posted with a poor response and agencies still charging fees that are frankly no longer sustainable. Here at the NWUPC conference we have met many universities looking to make smarter procurement decisions and we can prove that not only does our Talent Bank solution save substantial sums on both temporary and permanent recruitment, it can significantly improve your employability of students and remove your reliance on external agencies.”

The NWUPC Conference in Liverpool attracted a wide range of Universities within the North West and offered extensive presentations on many procurement and purchasing topics to a packed house of delegates. Keystone was the only recruitment service provider present on the day.

Time to cut the cost of recruitment

Over the past 12 months, Keystone has seen a dramatic uptake in colleges and universities of its Talent Bank services on the grounds of costs alone.

Using a Talent Bank solution means your temporary staffing costs can be slashed by as much as 75%, you can dispose of temp-to-perm fees in their entirety and you can also undertake unlimited permanent recruitment at zero cost – all direct from your own online Talent Bank service.

And, by using the portal to handle temporary recruitment directly, you only pay VAT on the small pay margin, NOT on all of the costs of the entire salary and fees.

Keystone is a provider to all major higher education purchasing frameworks and their members.
